The Prodigal Son was careless and thoughtless in his attitude towards all that God had given him. He was profligate with his physical and abstract goods and assets. The wayward lad was reckless and ruinous with even the welfare of his body. His casual attitude towards his loving, earthly and heavenly father. His losses were not recuperative. Once gone they are gone forever.

Luke 15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
